There's something about the way Sam is that bothers her. She could swear that she saw his eyes glint yellow, but that can't be right.

She shakes her head and discards that thought as they wind up the path to the hotel, and turns to continue speaking to Ruby.

Donnie paces his little cell, up and down up and down. Jake takes a seat beside Frank on the cot, following Donnie with his eyes.
Donnie chews at his nails nervously, Frank's gaze heavy.
What the hell was he supposed to do here?

"Innocent?" Dr. Thurman (not really, it's not really her, this one's too old, too tired) looks at Donnie, puzzled.
"Yeah, he's innocent," Donnie's fingers fiddle with the Rubik's cube nervously, trying to work his way from idea to words.
"Donnie, there was substantial evidence---"
He turns, and before she can protest or he realizes what he's doing, he's rewound the clock for her, shoved her backwards and lets her see it all for herself.

Dr. Garrison watches as his daughter opens her eyes. And instead of pale, cornflower blue eyes and a wide, maybe confused smile, he's rewarded with blank white eyes and a frown.
And that's all he sees before light consumes his vision and his body heats up and decomposes.
He doesn't his his (not)little girl get up and walk through the hospital carnage, intent on destroying the false heir.
