From Bad to Worse to Not So Bad and Pretty Cool
BAD: Friday we went to the Taste of Pinellas festival to see the Huey Lewis and The News concert. We both ate the same thing all day/night except at one point I tried some "crabby sauce" for my crab cake slider while my BF did not. Fast-forward to 2am and I am emptying my stomach into the toilet. Hello food poisoning! I contacted both the festival and the restaurant with no response from the eatery. Thanks.
WORSE: Saturday's mail brought me 2 letters from school regarding my admission into the 2 medical programs I had applied for. Unfortunately, I was denied entry into the radiography program...apparently, you pretty much have to have straight-A's to get into that as we found out from talking to an advisor. My 2nd choice, radiation therapy, I was given the option to be an alternate in the event a place opens up in the next 2 weeks. I found out I am 8th on the alternate's list, so I ain't holdin' my breath for that.
NOT SO BAD: I might be able to get into another school but my feeling is...if all programs require a 4.0 and I can't retake my B classes, then I can never get in. I'm still trying to 2 other schools, however. If nothing else, I may take more classes for pre-reqs for other programs and reapply next year. :(
PRETTY COOL: Sunday we went to a special open housey thing at Best Buy and I got to pick out my bday presents. I got a new camera (Sony DSC-H55, a point and shoot with 10x zoom!) and the Barnes and Noble e-reader, Nook with a $50 gift card for ebooks. I also got accessories and cases for both, the Nook case for free because we didn't get our open house/Premium Rewards member gift. Of course, I don't get to play with anything until my bday.
Today I'm trying to pull myself from my depressed-about-school hole and finishing my Lost in Space dress. The NCIS marathon on USA isn't helping.
