I make plans based on
kittykehe's normal work day......
And it turns out to not be a normal work day. She normally leaves at 7:00 am, so I figured I had time to get things ready before noon.
Only today she didn't leave until closer to 10:00. So I just acted like I was doing the normal going to work thing (Skipping a few steps to get out the door quicker) and then headed out. Fortunately the first part of my plan involved going shopping, so it wasn't a huge disruption.
Last night I left a chocolate bar on her car door, figuring she would find it on her way out when I was still asleep, and wonder when I had time to put it there. Her not leaving until late ruined a little bit of the fun but not much. She was still happy to find it.
Sometime today, hopefully before she goes home, a bouquet of roses will be delivered to her office. Inside is a card, which a hidden reference to the first time I visited her. She didn't have any days off, so I was at her apartment alone for a day. So I made her lasagna using a recipe I found online. It took me all day to make, doing sauce from nearly scratch, and I was still cooking when she got home. She came in, smelled the food, and saw me cooking in the kitchen, dinner was almost ready.
So when I left today, instead of going to work, I went to the store and picked up supplies for the same lasagna (She loved it) and her favorite flavor of homemade ice cream, as well as a couple dozen roses for around the house. I had already cleared working from home with my boss for today.
So at the moment, the sauce is simmering, and will be for a few hours. I am taking a break from cooking, but will be getting started on the ice cream soon.
When she gets home, around 6 to 6:30, the lasagna will be nearly done cooking, the ice cream will be done and in the freezer, hopefully I'll have the house cleaned up a little (If I have time), and I'll be in the kitchen dressed the same I was the first time she came home from work to a meal by me.
Of course, for the past few weeks when she was figuring we wouldn't really do much on Valentines Day, I just smiled and nodded. And reinforced that by declaring that dinner on Sunday (We ate out) would be our Valentines Day dinner.
And after all that, a surprise in store for her. (No, not that, not yet. No, not that either, pervert.) Something we can do together this Summer.
