"By principle, I do not associate with Gryffindors, not because I'd been brought up to, but because Gryffindors do go against my personal taste. They're loud, uncouth, brash, stupid and honestly, who could wear those garish shades of red and gold with pride, anyway? They have no taste, silly ideals, and they are so irritatingly perky. They feel strongly about things, their tempers are short, and the smallest thing can set them off. They also wear those easy smiles and they trust just as much and god they shouldn't be allowed to grin that sexily."

"Excuse me?" Theodore looked up from where he'd been idly reading a book and raised an eyebrow in Blaise's direction. The boy had been muttering to him for the past few minutes and had assumed Theodore had blanked him out, but a Slytherin learns to filter necessary things out, and Theodore really had been half-paying attention.

"I said Gryffindors are bloody annoying," Blaise said, and Theodore smiled knowingly.

"Of course you did. Carry on."

Blaise narrowed his eyes. "They are."

"I know."

"I don't understand how everyone seems to want those bloody Gryffindors all of a sudden. Even bloody Malfoy!"

"Mmhmm." Theodore calmly turned the page, quite aware of the suspicious glare Blaise gave him.

One.

Two.

Three.

"And there aren't any exceptions to the rule, either."

"There are always exceptions to the rule, Blaise," Theodore murmured, eyes fixed on the page.

"Are there?"

"Always."

Theodore hid a grin behind the book, forcing himself not to look at the shifting expressions on Blaise's face.

"I'm going out," Blaise casually announced, after a long moment's silence.

Theodore nodded, and as the door shut behind Blaise he smirked.

He'd collect from Seamus later, when he'd be too dazed from being ravished that he'd agree to pay anything.
