Acid Black Cherry - BLACK LIST album

Mar 29, 2010 11:39

I had downloaded this album online ages ago, and had, of course, listened to every track multiple times. All the while I had been steadily convinced that the album just included random songs. This would be acceptable because it's a solo project, I felt. After I finally purchased the album and it arrived in the mail, one look through the book jacket ( Read more... )

I suppose the moral of the story is that buying CDs is way better than downloading them. Opening up the book jacket can be a true moment of enlightenment.

Not that I haven't read the whole thing that is above it, but that is just so true. Probably why I am a sucker for having so much LM.C originals. Artwork and booklets. You just háve to love those things at times. They look much nicer then boxes which have your handwriting on it containing the songs on the cd. Or typed, if you prefer.

Album artwork is boss. Unless they ruin it. That's usually what makes spending thirty dollars on a jrock CD worth it.

Very, very true.
Cheaper usually is nicer when I kind of suck on money again, like usually lately, but artwork is nice to show off sometimes as in 'look what I have'^^ to a friend or so.

By the way.
I saw you made some collages. Of which one of Teru. Perhaps I could make one for you as well? Been attempting to find time for a thing of those, but I never had a good reason lately. And my icons/banners folder is fat enough already anyway.

I wish CDs were a bit cheaper. I would buy them all the time. And album art is just pretty. Especially for VK bands because they usually have all the fun makeup and costumes.

And I would absolutely love it! if you made me a collage of Teru. I would be delirious with joy. He is my favorite guitarist at all, and he's adorable. I'm giddy already. Thank you for offering :)

I acsolutely agree. It would be nicer if some things were cheaper. Being a stupid fool for v[NEU] and their material being really, really expensive is not very helpful isn't it?

Well, then I'll go haunt my Teru folder for a while. I do things like that for a living anyway andI haven't made a collage in FOREVER it seems so it would be a very nice practice. ^^

That's how they trap us. We become total suckers for them and then they charge us a royal fortune...

And what do you do for a living then? (and thank you!)

Yes, very very true. ¬¬ I might have to haunt the figure on my icon for that one REALLY badly. Wouldn't dare.

Actually, I'm a student. XD Oldest one in class at the moment since the only figure that was older then me left class. ¬¬ Whimp. But I study graphic design, and it is in so many forms it basicly dazzles you when I try to explain.
Bút! I might be able to take pictures from Teru and the rest of Versailles personally in July. I'm excited, let me tell you that.

A lot of people on LJ have or are studying something like graphic design. It's funny, they all love Jrock, make collages, and write fanfiction. How does that happen?

I'm hoping Versailles announces US tour dates. I can't imagine they won't; it wouldn't be much of a "world tour" without traveling the world, but if they announce them soon enough, I can ask for tickets for my birthday. Which I would die for. I would dress up and everything. But if you do get pics, you have to share them on LJ.

Then I'll cross my fingers for that as well.
For me, it's Europe, and they happen to come to Amsterdam, which makes it pretty easy for me to go there. Have my tickets for months now, a week after they went on sale I more or less ran over because only then I managed to get the money for it.

If I do get to make pictures (I mailed the management about that) I have to put them on my website I share with a friend. We go to concerts together and take pictures whenever allowed. So far, we have Dio ~Distraught Overlord~ and MUCC on there already, and HOPEFULLY we can add LM.C in a few weeks, and Exist Trace after that.
Then comes Anli Pollicino and thén it's the big turn for Teru and the rest of Versailles. (Yes he happens to be my favourite member too. ^^;)

Anyway. I might be in class now, but I am working on that collage already. Between weird classes that make no sense. XD

If I did manage to go, it would be my very first concert. How cool would it be to say my first concert was a Japanese symphonic metal band? Hoping, hoping....

Well, I'm totally broke, which is why I hope they announce it pre birthday so someone will buy me tickets. But if you get to take pictures, I'll settle with those too. Sounds like tons of fun; I hope you enjoy yourself.

Very cool. It would be better then answering 'My Chemcial Romance, five years ago now', which is my answer. XD
First Japanese band I have seen... Was LM.C, and I suffer serious braindamage thanks to Aiji, their guitarist. That man just made such an impact on me, I was blown away completely the moment he opened the door and walked onto the stage. All the concerts after were never the same again, and I have seen quite some in the meantime.
If you like, you can see some of them here, but don't count on being able to read it, hehe. The English version is not done yet. But here you can find Dio ~Distraught Overlord~ and MUCC with a video impression and a few pictures. Thát is basicly one of my external projects along with my friend. We visit Japanese concerts and take pictures (with permission as they usually don't let ANYONE photograph them) and put them there for them to see. UnsraW however. I was so, so close to getting an all access pass for them until at the very last moment this big organisation jumped in and went 'no'. Like, a day ( ... )

I was actually a pretty intense fan of MCR a few years ago, more like last year, lol, but I just...transformed. Or something. I hardly listen to music in English anymore, there's something just super satisfying about Japanese music.

But that does sound like a fun project. If I could afford to make a hobby like that, I might, lol. I would do it for the guitarists. Total passion, total passion....

I know absolutely what that feels like. When people ask me why (which happens a lot for some reason) I can only say it is so more... 'Creative' then English music... English sounds like all the same when you have listened to it for a while, and Japanese music has so many different elements, it's a pleasure to listen to it because it is so satisfying, indeed.

Shared passion, shared passion... Though I have a favourite person or two on every position anyway. XD

My first answer is that it's very different, and everyone says, "Duh, it's in a different language." But that's not what I mean when I'm talking about the music as a whole. The lyrics are in Japanese, but music is a universal language, and Japanese music speaks greater volumes. It is much more creative, and it represents total aestheticism, which I adore in all art forms. Music in English, or American music, just doesn't possess that.

Of course, I have favorites in every position as well.

Never get the time to fully explain anymore. But it's true, it is much more creative then English music.

And sorry for the short reply, 12.27 AM and someone is WHINING like hell that I need to shut off the computer. Well give me a few I'm DOWNLOADING something thank you very much. --'
