Acid Black Cherry - BLACK LIST album

Mar 29, 2010 11:39

I had downloaded this album online ages ago, and had, of course, listened to every track multiple times. All the while I had been steadily convinced that the album just included random songs. This would be acceptable because it's a solo project, I felt. After I finally purchased the album and it arrived in the mail, one look through the book jacket ( Read more... )

Very cool. It would be better then answering 'My Chemcial Romance, five years ago now', which is my answer. XD
First Japanese band I have seen... Was LM.C, and I suffer serious braindamage thanks to Aiji, their guitarist. That man just made such an impact on me, I was blown away completely the moment he opened the door and walked onto the stage. All the concerts after were never the same again, and I have seen quite some in the meantime.
If you like, you can see some of them here, but don't count on being able to read it, hehe. The English version is not done yet. But here you can find Dio ~Distraught Overlord~ and MUCC with a video impression and a few pictures. Thát is basicly one of my external projects along with my friend. We visit Japanese concerts and take pictures (with permission as they usually don't let ANYONE photograph them) and put them there for them to see. UnsraW however. I was so, so close to getting an all access pass for them until at the very last moment this big organisation jumped in and went 'no'. Like, a day before. You can understand that was quite a Y^Y face from my friend, who is a huge UnsraW fan.
But next up: once more, LM.C. And guess who has a pass? Oh yeah. I do. Maya and Aiji, BEWARE. For I have a camera.
Might randomly haunt friend with it for fun though. XD

Anyway, I hope for you they announce something soon, so someone can get you tickets! Let's not mention I have seen Dio and MUCC for free thanks to passes... I'm trying to get the same for Exist Trace and D=OUT which was announced yesterday.

I was actually a pretty intense fan of MCR a few years ago, more like last year, lol, but I just...transformed. Or something. I hardly listen to music in English anymore, there's something just super satisfying about Japanese music.

But that does sound like a fun project. If I could afford to make a hobby like that, I might, lol. I would do it for the guitarists. Total passion, total passion....

I know absolutely what that feels like. When people ask me why (which happens a lot for some reason) I can only say it is so more... 'Creative' then English music... English sounds like all the same when you have listened to it for a while, and Japanese music has so many different elements, it's a pleasure to listen to it because it is so satisfying, indeed.

Shared passion, shared passion... Though I have a favourite person or two on every position anyway. XD

My first answer is that it's very different, and everyone says, "Duh, it's in a different language." But that's not what I mean when I'm talking about the music as a whole. The lyrics are in Japanese, but music is a universal language, and Japanese music speaks greater volumes. It is much more creative, and it represents total aestheticism, which I adore in all art forms. Music in English, or American music, just doesn't possess that.

Of course, I have favorites in every position as well.

Never get the time to fully explain anymore. But it's true, it is much more creative then English music.

And sorry for the short reply, 12.27 AM and someone is WHINING like hell that I need to shut off the computer. Well give me a few I'm DOWNLOADING something thank you very much. --'
No respect these days, psh. ¬¬

I suffer random insomnia, or so it seems. I can't sleep on command. XD It takes a while and usually I end up playing PSP in the middle of the night. (Figure why it says playtime and then a really large number. XD)

Anyway~ I know you're not too fond of Juka (why did he have to change his name to Shaura Y^Y?) but you should really listen to VII-Sense, it's so good. I might just kick Erina's knee or something. He killed one of my favourite bands by like, spitting in their faces and leaving. They just released their first single and PV, and I must say. I'm blown away. O_o

Okay, I tried, I really did. I opened up my mind to see all things, and I just got: horror. It all seemed like horror, the melodies and whatnot. Ignoring Juka (or should I say Shaura?). I will say this, I like Juka's (damn it!) new look. Way better than his Hizaki Grace Project days. His hair is very cool.

I've been on the lookout for new bands too, but I just haven't found anything that really compares to my ultimate fascination (that being Versailles). Although, you already know, I really like Acid Black Cherry...but pretty much only the first album. Ugh, I need new bands!! It might help take my mind off of the tour...

Don't worry, I have a very wide range of music I like, Versailles, Hizaki Grace Project and Versailles included. I kind of have to, as from a label nearby (ahem, nearby for you, for me 200 miles is FAR don't get me wrong) I get Japanese samples. as in, full albums and stuff. And I have to write reviews about them. Have not been doing this for very long, but aparantly they like me as they keep sending me things? I don't mind, adds nice to my collection though sometimes I'm quite ashamed of what is in there, haha. Sadly enough they only send me European releases.

Perhaps... You could check into Pierrot and Phantasmagoria? I must say those are my favourite two bands from Japan, unfortunately both disbanded (Phantasmagoria just keeps coming back randomly, it's piss annoying actually haha).
I'll look through my collection anyway, perhaps I find something, like now, stereo landed on Matenrou Opera, they are good friends with Versailles and make very melodic music (like, "Anomie", "Hiai to Melancholy", "Faust" etc.). Perhaps you like those too, I have no idea, I'm wildly guessing here only. And trying to help out in the search for new music. (Which I suffer REALLY badly from time to time.)

I have heard of Matenrou Opera, but I've really only listened to one song "Dolce" which I think I sort of blogged about....or at least I shared a live.

And samples are very cool, I would be ecstatic if I could do something like that, (I would put in a significant effort to) but I'm not very popular on the internet jut yet....

Just downloaded Mix Speaker's Inc. BIG BANG MUSIC. It's definitely weird, but I really like it for some reason. And I guess this new band popped up late March called BrainStein, so I downloaded their only song, pretty good actually, I like it too. I think I'll delve a bit deeper and see what Matenrou is up with...Sono's voice is very enchanting, I think...

I'll try Pierrot and Phantsmagoria later this afternoon and see what comes of it. Thanks :)

That DVD you posted the song from has been on my external hard drive for quite some time. I must say from Anomie to Faust it contains a set of awesome, melodic, powerful songs.

They are very nice, I got four albums (yes, full length!) in my mail yesterday, I litterly went 'Well this lady does not waste any time over there...' to my mother who is still a bit gobsmacked by what it contained.

Actually, Mix Speaker's Inc. BIG BANG MUSIC was included in that package from yesterday! Only had time to listen to one of their songs, but the other things were Girugämesh NOW, XodiacK Shinra Bansho -Setsuri-, and Zoro CORE. I thank my wide range of interestes to be able to do things like that. I like a lot of music, but I listen to them with interestes even if I don't like them too much. The cover from XodiacK looked... Impressive so I have only listened to that one as I knew Girugämesh's album already. I expected something... Terrible, but it sounded like a combination of MUCC and several other things. I was quite.. Blown away by XodiacK I must say. It's a lot louder then most music I have, but I like bands like lynch., Girugämesh next to bands like Bounty and LM.C. So that is quite wide, don't you think?

I hope you won't be dissapointed with them, I know I have a great time whenever I listen to their music, and actually, the same goes for Plastic Tree, it kind of fits in that line, along with MUCC.
Still, I probably always will be a sucker for 'powerful' melodies. As I got passed my highschool days with screamo music. A lot of it.

Okay, I'll try Matenrou then.

I seriously need to find out how I can get free music too. It seems like a dream hobby. And truthfully, it sounds like something I could do for a career too, honestly. Did they contact you? Or did you contact them and ask? I love blogging about music, I just hesitate before I actually buy the album because I always have an epiphany after the fact after looking through the booklet, ya know? And I can't always buy albums because I don't work yet and forty dollars is a lot for an unemployed teenager...

I don't necessarily write-off a band because I don't like what I've heard to present. I'll do a lot of searching, a lot, and I'll listen to a lot of albums. Sometimes I appreciate albums more than whole bands, so that can sustain them in my iTunes library. And more often than not, I'll say "no way" and first and acquire a taste for them accidentally. Which is fine by me, of course.

Have fun, hopefully. ^^

It is a very nice thing to do, that I must say. However, I was surprised when they sended me the European Ediiton of LM.C's new album 'WONDERFUL WONDERHOLIC'. Luckily nobody was at home to recieve the fangirl scream... As I am a complete sucker for their guitarist, and I am not kidding. I do understand your point though, I suffer the exact same problem. I actually save up all I have for things I really want and don't get sampled. Ahem LM.C *sucker*.
The label... Gan-Shin. They contacted me. Actually it was quite silly. I requested a photo-pass for MUCC's concert in a venue nearby here, and about a month later, they contacted me if I wanted to help them out reviewing European releases. As I am a complete SUCKER for music I accepted, and heard nothing for a century or so, and then suddenly found a package on my doorstep adressed to my previous intern company, but on my adress. It turned out to contain LM.C, and a letter with my name on it, requesting me to review it and contact someone. I did, heard nothing, recieved a mail later from another person from the same label, requesting for the said review. So I sended it to her within the hour she mailed me, and she was stunned. She said she read it, and was amazed by my fast reply. So she asked if I wanted to help them out reviewing things more often, so I said sure, and she said she'd send me a package, which arrived yesterday, containing the things I listed previously. Still have to listen to those properly, I will propbably end up doing that tomorrow or Monday. Knowing me, I'll like the music eventually. Perhaps not from the start, the only doubts I have at the moment are Mix Speaker's Inc. I haven't really listened to them yet, and I had the bad thing in my head to compare them with LM.C INSTANTLY. That is not a very good thing. XD As I... Well ADORE LM.C. ^^

P.S; (This is such an educational conversation, take that, weirdos I know as well. XD)

I'll figure it all out once I become more blog savvy and bold enough to start looking around, lol. I might have some serious thoughts though...

On another note, I'm probably going to give BIG BANG MUSIC! a proper listen later on tonight, and because it's totally out of my preference but I'm loving it anyway, I might blog it up too...SO if you need any ideas later on, you can blog-poach, lol. I totally wouldn't care...

Don't worry, I don't rate anything the same way because it just happens to be Japanese. I like Visual, Oshare and Nagoya Kei so anything that doesn't drop in there, is a bit harder for me to listen to. Like JPop, I'm not too fond of it. I might have a HUGE folder of Gackt but not too fond of it. Can't listen to it for very long.

Actually, I have just given it a good listen. I will probably do better on a sugar rush, because I have listened to melodic and loud things all day and then suddenly the explosion of happiness drops in. Might not have been the right moment for it...
Ideas would be handy, actually. It's always nice to know what other people think of the exact same 'object'. For BIG BANG MUSIC! (I just checked out the album art) I could provide you with the English lyrics of the songs. I would scan them, but I nearly need a magnifying glass for that so my scanner would disagree with my command of scanning it properly. Typing it over would be no problem, I read those things anyway.
What I can do for you, since I have a lot of music and will recieve new from time to time, is upload things for you so you can check them out and whatnot, and perhaps make reviews out of them if you want to.

And for the pushing-thing livejournal has going on. Below comments are (reply) (parent) (thread) options. If you click on this comment's '(parent)' option, then it will show up as a top comment and has no issues. Just a heads up, if you want to continue this through messages, feel free too. (:
