I'm on the lookout for some new music/anime recommendations.
I'm pretty bummed because Kamijo's new solo single is about to drop and I really did want to get it. Unfortunately, I think Jupiter missed the mark and Kamijo's solo project will be the winner. Which is sad, and especially ironic since initially, Kamijo's solo career kind of made it seem like he had left to do his own thing. People were kind of calling him a Gackt-clone... actually, people have been calling him that since the Lareine days really though I don't totally appreciate why. But you know, they were focusing on the idea that he had left Versailles to launch his own career which was so sure of being a big hit blah blah blah. Kind of like how Gackt became more popular after Malice Mizer. It was embarrassing for us true lovers of Versailles (not the crazy fangirls or the Jasmine You loyalists that crawl out of the pits to pounce on things like this).
Now it kind of appears to be the other way around since Kamijo's single/image is a lot more like Versailles than what Jupiter has done. Which is perfectly fine, I'm not faulting Jupiter for doing something different; in fact, why not take advantage of that free reign if you're gonna be in a new band, you know?
ANYWAY, I won't be able to get Kamijo's single just yet because I've spent the last of my money on textbooks. And even so, more important things are coming up.
Point is that I need some new music, and one single from Kamijo isn't gonna cut it. And I'm displeased with Jupiter's offerings. In general I just want something new to listen to. You guys should be pretty familiar with what I listen to. Though my obvious bias is for symphonic/neo-classical metal, I'm open to most things. So recommendations would be awesome.
Also, a new anime? Maybe not something super conventional like Attack on Crown or whatever. I will try to get Full Metal Alchemist to at least try it out, but I'd like something new that fits what I normally watch. So anything like DTB, Psycho-Pass - mind twisters. Or detective anime like Case Closed and UN GO. Comedies/dramas like Ouran/Fruits Basket (although be careful with these because in general it's not a favorite genre of mine, anime or otherwise). Do you guys know of any anime involving mermaids?? I'm really in love with mermaids lately. That would be cool. So yeah, whatever you can come up with I would be super grateful to try!
