Okay, I'm going to try to tackle this in some sort of fashion because not all of your comments need a response and there's just so much there... Lol.
The different "rules" are what throw me off about the Psycho-Pass world! Like the no-alcohol consumption thing and what not... It makes it hard to grasp the world properly for my story =__=;; Annoying!
I -think- alcohol is one of those almost... Mythical things? Things of legend? Strange way to explain it I know... But just that it exists "somewhere out there", but most people do not have contact with it because of its addictive qualities. So she knows ABOUT it, but has never actually seen what it looks like. Her first actual experience with the stuff is when Masaoka used it to spit out fire. There's some kind of... Misunderstanding about alcohol going on? I'm not sure. Like yes, in general people of smaller mass have a lower tolerance to alcohol, but it's not like "small mass = light weight". Also alcohol is one of those weird things that don't necessarily affect you immediately (spoken from experience). If you're not moving around much, sitting properly like she is, she wouldn't necessarily feel the effects of it. And the whole "red in the face" thing is one of those... Happens, but not necessarily happens to everyone. I get it though, and don't really get the significance of the scene - like yeah, introducing the idea of alcohol and how its controlled there, but not the significance of the two drinking. Lol, I feel like we're hammering on this topic a lot for some reason...
As for Rikako... Yup, she's creepy! Though in her defense, I will say that the grotesque artwork is what she grew up appreciating - you know, her dad being the famous artist that he was, prior to his condition. It's one of those things that you learn to appreciate as a child because your mother/father did and introduced to you. THAT'S the feeling I get from it.
I don't think she was trying to be particularly soothing with her Titus spiel and I think the girl was just completely overwrought about her situation anyways. It was more that she needed someone to listen and not necessarily advice? Sometimes we just need a listening ear and not always a talking mouth to provide "answers". To me, it was more to illustrated the dark and twisted souls that Makishima likes to involve himself with.
Though honestly, I will say that I didn't spend too much time dwelling on this episode. The human artwork thing in general just creeps me out, so yeah... Ick!
And I don't really remember when Kougami came to the conclusion regarding Makishima's involvement, so no comment there.
