The huge hall was built to impress with its elaborate carvings and fountains, its fancy chairs and irregular slab of rock table. When Ash and his friends arrived, all that was waiting for them were a number of trainers, their Pokemon relaxing outside of their Pokeballs. Through Nurse Joy's ears, Mewtwo listened to the trainers acquaint themselves. Foolish humans and their equally foolish Pokemon... but they would be useful to him.
From his tower at the top of the spiral ramp, Mewtwo evaluated them all. Were there so few worthy Pokemon Trainers in this world? The others were all either weaklings and cowards, unworthy even of hearing his plan. The Pokemon of such trainers would be equally worthless. As it was, he was fairly pleased with the selection before him.
He couldn't help but chuckle once into their unsuspecting minds. Now it began. A pillar of blue light filled the spiral, and Mewtwo made Nurse Joy introduce him. "You are about to meet my master. The time has come for your encounter with the greatest Pokemon master on Earth."
Mewtwo floated down through the light, his eyes glowing brightly. It was time for these pathetic humans to learn the truth about their visit to New Island.
"Yes," the nurse said, "the world's greatest Pokemon master is also the most powerful Pokemon on Earth. This is the ruler of New Island and soon the whole world, Mewtwo."
One of the NPCs humans protested, and both Mewtwo and the Nurse silenced him, each saying, "Quiet, human. From now on, I am the one who makes the rules." The boy rose from the air, surrounded by a jagged, shifting blue aura and moaning in pain. Mewtwo smiled in satisfaction, pleased to be making his point so effectively, then carelessly tossed the boy toward one of the pools in the room.
