don't call it a comeback...
[the craziest part about this post is i have NO idea how long ago i started it, but thanks to LJ now saving your entries in draft, when i came here to write again and saw, "restore from saved draft?" i thought, oh hell, sure why not. and this isn't really THAT out of date, so i'll post it and add some NEW and more exciting news.]
i really HAVE been here for years. i'm not totally sure i'll stick with it and be "back," but i'll leave an update here anyway.
there are absolutely some posts, some topics, some subjects i've brought here that i wouldn't REALLY like to relive in all the gory details. but for the most part, having this outlet, and the ability to look back on certain times in my life, has been a real joy for me. so i sometimes regret i haven't been better at it in the last 2 years as i was during college and immediately after, but if i come back occasionally and update on the high points, i guess that's ok.

an update on a few (major) things...
thing 1
i took that interior design class! [ed. note: WOW, this post is pretty old; that was about 6 months ago. sheesh.] it was mostly what i thought it would be, and it was interesting, and fun to be in a classroom again. it confirmed for me that i do love interior design but also that i do not desire it enough to handle full-time work and part-time school. if i had the means to quit my job and go to school full time that might be different but that's just a nice fantasy... anyway the most important thing was i stopped wondering and DID it and that felt really good.
thing 2
i got a new job! still at the same company, and actually still in finance, but in a different subset of the group. i'm happy with the change and i LOVE my new boss. [ed. note: it's been almost 6 months and i'm still happy with the new job. it should have come w/ a larger raise and a new title and, ok, there are some things i wasn't totally thrilled with but i know i should be happy to have a job, and having one i actually don't hate for the first time in a few years is pretty groovy, too.]

(it truly warrants its own post but like i said before, i saw this old post here and decided to not leave it languishing in the internet ether any longer.)
I'M PREGNANT!! WE'RE HAVING A BABY! a baby GIRL, in fact! we are so, so, sooo very excited. i've been waiting to share this here until i was, ready i guess? superstitions or whatever. and also until everyone in my real life actually knew. but now here it is. i'm 20w4d today, so just a little more than HALFWAY DONE! i'm due december 17th.
everything else
happily status quo. husband is wonderful, dog is doing well, house is good, family is great, and i'm quite happy in general. i'm looking forward to a vacation with some of our closest friends in a few weeks, and then probably getting ready to buckle down and get the house ready for the tornado that will be coming through as we turn the calendar to 2010. so it's been a good 2009 so far, and i have oh-so-much to look forward to in the future.
so in summary, life is very, very good. thanks for sticking around! ;-)
