3. you have to get involved more. join communities and comment more often in your friends' LJs. then the traffic will come, which will motivate you to write more. :)
4. eek. i had a friend in CGS, not by choice. i think half the problem was the type of kids who ended up as your classmates.
1 - no, i didn't actually. in fact, i don't think i even went back to that bar until we had our engagement party there, just shy of two years later
( ... )
3. i think it helps to have a niche interest. particular music subgenre, being wiccan. for you i might suggest this community of alterna-Jews. i forget the exact name, but you may have heard of it. it's true that it's hard to find communities with actual adults, but they're out there.... it's easier for me because there are so many Russian communities. :)
4. yeah... there actually *are* colleges that are more geared for exploration. it just seemed like CGS was for people whose GPAs were too low to be accepted to other schools within BU. so they had to go through two more years of high school 2.0, as you said, to prove themselves.
i have (obviously) made connections and friends through communities, but for the most part - particularly as you mention, music sub-genre is one example that comes to mind - the communities stopped being so active and that's how i kind of fell away from them. but i guess i should use the past as a reminder to just keep trying.
