Ok, so since my friends have done it I guess I will...

Eastman School of Music
Wait listed:
Cleveland Institute of Music
Oberlin Conservatory of Music
Accepted:
University of Florida
McGill University Schulich School of Music
Alright, CIM was my #1 and I was in pieces when I found out about that. Now I'm better. Eastman I didn't really want to go to, but not getting into Eastman was an awful experience nonetheless. I had a bad audition and I know it, but after I went to Eastman I really thought I could get in there. Oberlin is my #2, and sort of #1 now because CIM only has like 1 spot and I doubt getting off the wait list is realistic. McGill is going to be great. It's a great school with my favourite orchestra closely connected to it (Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal) and I will do well there. Not getting into schools will motivate me to kick people's asses for summer festival auditions and orchestral position auditions and grad school auditions in the future. Being totally honest and in keeping with Sergein's vent example, I'm a better musician than some of the people accepted at Eastman and Oberlin, so I'll make sure to rub that in their faces. Even CIM with its amazing musicians I'm going to catch up to. Anyone who knows me musically knows I've come a long way at NWSA, and I'll do way more these next four years. Montreal is really cold though. I'll have to get used to thinking places like Cleveland have warm winters.
