How much does the DK200 cost?

I read an article once that said it costs between 4k and 24k to complete in an Ironman, when you consider the cost of your equipment, food, traveling, etc. Luckily, I already have all of my gear... 4 bikes to choose from, helmet, couple pairs of gloves, sunglasses, water bottles, camel pack. I do need to get new tires which will cost around $60. So my main cost will come from food... and I can eat a lot.

You burn approximately 500 calories for every 10 miles you ride. This is a 200 mile race. Some of my training rides will be 100 miles... I take some supplements, but there are only so many shot bloks and sports beans I can eat. I like solid food. On my bike I like to eat pbj sandwiches, animal cracker, beef jerkey. Since I'm trying out a dairy free diet, I'll have to find an alternative to the obligatory Snickers candy bar.

As of right now my DK200 expenses include:
Registration: $140
Personalized 3 month training plan: $100 donation to Team in Training
