The New Tool Album Rocks!
My Birthday is coming up on Saturday. In celebration of turning a Quarter-of-a-Century, I am planning on going out on Friday night. Not too sure what the plan is yet but it is brewing in my head. Something to the effect of dinner and then drinks. No idea what kind of food or where to drink but so far that is my hatchling of a plan. I would love to see people so anyone who wants to hang out should either call me or write and I can get an idea of how many people are interested.
Let's see, what else is going on. Well, my life has been pretty nice lately. This past weekend, Zach and I went and visited his sister (who is 9 months pregnant) in Portland. It was nice to get out of town for awhile. While in Portland, we went to the biggest bookstore I've ever been to and bought some sweet Hunter S. Thompson Books, including "The Curse of Lono." This was a great find and the first time either of us had seen the book in print. It is beautifully illustrated with tons of full-color Ralph Steadman artwork. Just being in that huge bookstore made me feel extremely illiterate. I used to read so much more when I was younger. I am getting back into the habit of reading everyday and enjoying it a lot. I think it will also help encourage me to write more. What kind of journalist doesn't write? I've got to keep my brain moving and learning.
I am currently looking into buying the digital camera of my dreams (or at least my current dreams). I got some shots this weekend that I still haven't seen because I have to take them to get developed. Come to think of it, I still have photos from Vegas that I haven't developed yet. That's the problem with film, if you are using any sort of decent film, you have to take it to professionals to get it developed and it's not cheap. So I am looking forward to entering the digital world of photography.
Well, lunch is about over and I've got tons to do. So I hope to see everyone out on Friday to celebrate, me turning...older.
