So last year when I went to Ohio, Megan took me to an awesome thrift store, where I bought a purple skirt for no other reason that it was purple and 50c. It didn't fit, wasn't a neat style, but hey, two quarters!
All along, I planned to make this skirt into a New and Much Neater Purple Skirt.
And today - I did it! In a few short hours (spent hanging and bonding with my brother in the basement, who is btw back from gov school), with only a seam ripper (and a piece of string), I created...
Hippie Purple Skirt of Yay!
First, our stylish front shot...
Ooo, look how hot that is!
With detailing such as this "I found it in a drawer" drawstring -
- and this zipper vent!
So basically what I did was rip out the waistband (which was too small), rip out a few pleats, turned the thing upside down and ripped a few holes in the bottom (now top) hemline, pushed a drawstring through, unzipped the zipper to make it a slit, and voila! New wardrobe piece!
