Ok so I download iTunes 8 and start trying out the Genius function. I'm playing around with it a little and it seems to be generating pretty good playlists. Then I think, how can I really test this? I know, I'll use The Beatles, whose music has inspired the music of nearly every artist for the past 4-5 decades. Not only that, but their music is diverse so I'll see how one artist's different songs generate different playlists. But oh no. I can't do that.
GENIUS DOESN'T WORK FOR THE BEATLES. Stupid Apple violating legal agreements.
Anyway, other than that it looks like an interesting feature. I don't understand, though, why they won't just add an option for "Add song to Queue." It's so useful and so simple.
I feel bad for people who bought iPods yesterday. I guess Apple does this sort of announcement/release event every year though.
