We decided to put the Christmas tree in a cage this year to keep the cats off of it. Since that meant a tree under 4 feet, M brought home a live one. It will be planted in the chicken yard when we are done with the holidays. C is already hoping this becomes a tradition and I end up with a pine forest someday.

C made little pies with his new homeschool group. The host made the crusts and each kid brought their own filling. C used S's recipe the night before to make pumpkin pie filling. He ended up with two personal sized pies.

The kittens have been getting a little daytime outside time. Shadow will bolt through the door if we're not careful; he loves the outside. Ghost will venture out for a few minutes at a time, but he's so fluffy he gets too hot and wants back in.

Last Gaming day was just us. We four used the swings for a bit then went home. The park itself was less crowded than the week before, the 10 degree drop in weather must have been a bit too much for some people.

S is extra busy with work this week, her manager and the busiest shift lead have to quarantine because of exposure to Covid. S's relatively light schedule of four days with less than 25 hours scheduled has morphed into 6 days, all opening shifts, that will land her some overtime pay. The only reason she gets time off next week, besides her written in stone Tuesday, is her DQ is closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas.

H is done with classes for the semester, so hopefully we'll see a little more of her over the holidays. She is busier at work, though, since a couple people quit. She was asked to cover an opening shift, and that turned into an open to close, so 11-12 hour day.

The cold weather finally showed up. As a result the chickens aren't laying for me; I broke down and bought a dozen eggs. On the plus side, our citrus is finally getting ripe. I see tangelos in lunches in M's future.
