I don't think old friendships should die just because you make new ones. You have to realize that each friend is a seperate entity, so one friendship should never affect another. Of course, we're all humans and tend to blurr the lines on that one. But if you keep up on your Dr. Phil, you'd realize you shouldn't do that! Lol, sorry. I hate Dr. Phil. Anyway, you really are supposed to treat each friend as a seperate entity ... that way you don't have to sacrifice one friendship for another. Ya know?

Happiness is all relative. You can be happy for one moment, yet not have a "happy" lifestyle. I think you're focusing too much on a life-time of happiness... which causes the majority of the population to be pissed off right now. Damn people. lol Anyway, I think you should just calm down and stop expecting to have a sudden urge of happiness. It's like car keys... you can't find them when you're looking for them!

I know this reply didn't make much sense, but whatevah ho. :-p

I love you. And you're great. There's a song I learned a long time ago in girl scouts..."Make new friends, but keep the old; one is silver and the other's gold." It's a really great song. The more friends the better, right? Sometimes though in this process of change called life, people drift away from you. It's hard to see that happen. I've had to cut people just to keep my sanity and the pain from hurting me too much. It's not fun and it surely sucks. Fix what you can and release what you cannot fix. Hang in there. Life gets better once you get thru the next couple of years.

Sam, I know things are really tough right now...with me..family...school...etc. Always remember to keep your head up and think of all the positives in your life. Making new friends doesn't mean that you will lose the old ones. Sometimes it is always good to make a new friend. Its good to have a new face around. But just b/c you have new friends, doesn't mean you can't hang out with both or do things with them together. Happiness, to me, isn't something that you need to search for. Often times it is right in front of you. If you keep searching for this happiness, you may never find it. Take a step back, calm down, breathe, and live life. Somewhere along the way you are bound to be extremely happy. I know you had it once in your life, hopefully that happiness will soon return. Life is too short to sit around searching for one thing that you think will make all the difference in your life. Maybe if you work on the other three things that you listed, happiness will find you, instead of the other way around. I promise you, everything will ( ... )
