Well, that's bizzarre

The service tech came and looked at the fridge and pronounced the compressor dead. Fixing it would run in the neighborhood of $620. At that point, it's just as cheap to buy a new unit. Besides, I never much cared for the way the freezer in this one was laid out anyhow

Maybe he kicked the compressor while he was fooling around with the fridge and got it to work again without realizing it? Just be grateful it's actually working (at least for now anyway).
