Stephen called from Kuwait last night. My baby is on the other side of the world. I've never even been out of the country, unless you count that one-hour trip across the border into Mexico when I was 16, and I don't. It wasn't really Mexico, it was tourist-Mexico. I would like to say for the record that I don't like this. I don't like it at all. Children are supposed to be within driving distance at all times. Reasonable driving distance.
Okie (the anti-social cat who lives in our bedroom) was a crazy woman last night. It was after midnight before either of us could get to sleep because she kept running across our legs and yowling. And yes, she's fixed. She's just insane, is all. (Why are tortoiseshell cats so high-strung?) So I had a heck of a time staying awake during class this morning. I went home afterwards and took a nap, then had to go back to the library to work on my research project. Five more weeks and this semester is over. I even have an idea for an XF story that I want to write this summer. We'll see if it actually happens.
There has simply not been enough Dr Pepper in my life lately. Why do I even bother with diet drinks? It's not like I lose any weight while drinking them. In fact, unless I live on vegetables, I don't lose or gain more than five pounds, no matter what I eat or drink. The only way I lose weight is if I watch and measure every bite I take, which I hate doing, which is why I don't do it. Weight Watchers works great if you follow it, but when I'm on it, all I think about is food. I should just accept that I'm never going to be skinny again and move on.
I want Krispy Kreme donuts.
