It's all finally coming together
THE MARIMBA PART EXISTS! It sounds awesome too.
I still needed to write the marimba part for my major work, and now that i have i realized its easy to just use a good marimba patch in logic and put it into the final mix (which means i wont need a player [whoohoo!]).
How unreal is that!
One rather large problem still remains. The piece (although sounding pretty awesome) doesn't really have a concept anymore. It did once upon a time, but i've moved so far from it i don't know whether i should bother submitting it with program notes attached talking about humans and atoms.
I think i've decided that my piece deals with existence. Maybe Kaylene will write awesome program notes? Bernie called last week and he was more than happy for me to go riffle through his etchings and pick one that i like to use as the front cover of the piece (how cool will that be).
I fucken hope i get a distinction for this, i really do. If i don't then they can't give me honors, which will make me cry.
By the end of the week i will post up my performance notes and program notes for you guys to edit/pass on suggestions!
Just have to tidy up the score and make it pretty now!
