It really has been a long time

Hey all! Well I guess I should post an update since it’s been a long time since I wrote last. Well as you all might know I’ve graduated from SVSU and moved down to West Virginia. Between graduation and moving I went on my trip. I graduated from college and left a week later for overseas. That was the experience of a lifetime. My mom and I went to Frankfurt, Germany; Cologne, Germany; Salzburg, Austria; and London, England. By the way 3 countries in one week might be pushing it, but who’s to say when I’ll ever get over there again. It was an amazing trip though; I got to see so many things I never thought I would see. Plus traveling with my mom is always a fun experience. So the next day after I got back from overseas I packed up a rented car and drove myself to West Virginia. Scott was already down here and starting working while I was over seas. I spent one week relaxing before I started job hunting. I got restless and had to find a job. I ended up getting a great job at Marshall University working in the housing department. It started out really stressful because it was in the middle of the summer which is our busiest time. But now we are in our slow period because the students are in class so it’s gotten a lot better. Soon we will be starting our sign ups for next year and also getting ready for the upcoming freshman class. We are opening new dorms for next year so we are going to be getting ready for that. But, it’s definitely weird being on this end of the rooming process. But I can say it’s great to hear some of the stories. Student’s can definitely make you smile even on the worst of days. West Virginia is great; we live in the foot hills to the mountains so the views are amazing. If any of you want to see pictures then check out my facebook. I’ve got some on there. Anyways, so my life now revolves around working all day and running around at night. If anyone says being an adult doesn’t suck then you are totally mistaken. But hey it’s better than being in a classroom all day. So, new news in my life. Well I’ve bought a new kitten recently. Again if you want to see pictures check out facebook. She’s a gray and white tabby. Her name is Smokie. She’s a little monster but I still love her. We still have our other monster Kasey. He loves West Virginia especially the balcony that we have at our apartment. Who knew that the outside would mean so much to a cat? With our two kids it keeps Scott and I pretty busy. Yes, Scott and I are doing great. He’s working at Ryder trucks and loving it. Right now we are in the process of looking for a house down here. The mortgage payments in this area are about the same as a monthly payment on an apartment so we figured that would be the best thing for us. Right now we are looking in the Milton/Ona area. It’s directly between Huntington and Charleston, WV and it’s about 20 minutes from my work. We’ve found a couple houses that would work for us. We just haven’t found the one to call home. Other than that there isn’t a whole lot going on. During the week we work and during the weekend we are house hunting and being “an old married couple.” No we are not married yet for any of those who don’t know. Scott is trying to save up for a ring right now. We wanted to get some savings in the bank before we got engaged so we could still afford to live. Other than that my family is doing great. They’ve come down a couple of times to see WV and of course Scott and I are going home for the holidays. My work has some AMAZING benefits so I get a lot of time off to go home. I get 3 weeks paid vacation my first year, also I get 8 days off paid for Christmas so that is great to. So yea I guess that’s my life in a nut shell the last 5 months. It’s flown by but then again time always does. Hope all is well with everyone that reads this.
