Sakura the Con '07
April 6-8, 2007
last weekend was the long awaited anime convention.
Thursday 5
Kathleen came at around 8. spray painted our swords, played Smash Bros, and ate some fried rice. i took the day off cuz we were gonna go pre-reg but we got lazy, oops.
Friday 6
woke up early to put on ANBU attire. we wanted to leave by 10 so that we could make opening ceremonies. we failed even though we woke up an hour earlier than scheduled. had breakefast with Robert and Heather. took the bus. got there when opening ceremonies was starting. waited in line for an hour to register. the pre-reg line was a beast. we finished putting on our costume in the line. we saw Barbara but didn't get a chance to take pictures with her. lots of ppl asked for pictures of us. i lost count after like 7. went to Host Club Panel, was hosted by Honey and Mori. had some jalopeno overloaded subway. bought a Neji plushie. watched a Naruto episode, the one where Haku goes insane. Haku mad=scary. took a picture with Ron, don't ask how we know his name, who cosplayed as Kyouya (i will totally be cropped out of that one >,< you're welcome Kathleen). ate at the Fox Bar and Grill, we wanted to eat at Cheesecake Factory but the line was uber long. participated in the Slightly Anime Dating Game. Kathleen and i were one participant. got a picture with twins who cosplayed as the Hittachin brothers. Kathleen hugged the one near her....lol, was not so eager to hug the one near me with Robert there taking the picture for us...eventually went home.
Saturday 7
dyed my hair black at 1 in the morn. we left late cuz Kathleen was tired and got really sick. i dressed as Soi Fon, Kathleen as Fuu, Robert in ANBU, and Monica as guy from PoT. John couldn't go cuz he got in trouble for coming home late and Jeff's ankle injury expoded. left at about noon. stopped by Westlake and Bartell's to get my paycheck and so Kathleen could get medication. ran into Jenny Lee. I bought a Gin phone charm and a Bleach Calendar. Kathleen bought a black bunny hat and Gin phone charm. Kathleen went home early cuz she was miserable. Robert and Monica left for UW to attend a KhSA event. i stayed and ate a subway tuna sandwich, watched the Cosplay Contest, had henna some done, and watched a bit of Once upon a time in China. Robert came back later and he watched some movie whilst i passed out next to him. Walked back cuz buses stopped running.
Sunday 8
left like at 1. i dressed as Soi Fon again cuz Kurenai wasn't happening, Robert dressed as Asuma and Monica didn't dress up =( basically spent most of our time in the Exhibition Hall. went to Main Stage for Closing Ceremonies at like 4:30. it was supposed to start at 5 but the stupid charity auction didn't end until 6. i don't understand why they didn't move it into a different room or finish it after cuz the ended up half assing Closing Ceremonies in 30mins cuz it was supposed to be over at 6:30. it was so stupid. the only ppl that were bidding were basically the ppl that were in the front row who were there specifically for the auction and had the kind of expendible dough to bid. i was not pleased. and i got into a fight with my dad on the phone over grades.
and so ends SakuraCon 2007 weekend.
