skeletons keep out

Kim spent the weekend in Syracuse for the birthday of her old college roommate's daughter, which meant I had the house to myself. It is a spooky adventure rattling around here alone, esp. being in the country. I deadbolted the door each night, not because I was really concerned about intruders, but because it made it feel more like I was hunkering down in my fortress, waiting out the siege of the skeleton warriors. Skeleton warriors rising out of the hayfield under a red moon. Now that's spooky!

Also, I ordered takeout and watched REALLY dumb movies. I mean, Kim and I love to watch dumb movies together, but I tried to choose dumb movies that wouldn't necessarily be in her wheelhouse. It was kind of a fun spooky sleepover, just me and the cats.

But I'm glad she's back.
