whatever happened to the good 'ol days?

...when days consisted of running through sprinklers, playing on the swingset, and watching Nick Jr.
...when school meant circle time, arts and crafts, and playing outside with friends
...when no one cared about the clothes you wore, your makeup, or how you did your hair
...when teachers gave you toys from the Treasure Box or put gold stars near your name
...when you got chauffered around in a stroller : )
...when Raffi was cool : )

...when nothing we did seemed stupid or unjustified
...when we thought our creations were beautiful, even though they sucked
...when every moment seemed like part of a fairy tale, adventure movie, or mystery novel
...when no one worried about the future
...when no one cared what their voice sounded like when they sang
...when there was time to just sit on the lawn and watch clouds, sippy cup in hand
...when everyone was reckless
...when everything about the world seemed friendly, warm, and safe
...where everything was a mystery to be explored
