death

ft. one-sided Minsu, Yoosu

It had been going on for a month. Junsu refused to eat or drink, and any attempt only resulted in a series of thrashings and loud, heart-wrenching, hysterical shrieks that Yoochun had never imagined his Su was capable of. Many a time, Yoochun could only watch on painfully as a thin, sharp needle was inserted into Junsu’s vein as the only method to sustain his life.

Changmin was not any better off. He still ate, worked, continued with his daily activities, but his emotions had died. Shim Changmin was only an empty shell, a broken shell, an incapable human defeated by the inevitable force of poison.

Late at night, after Yoochun had managed to calm Junsu down once again, he hugged his lover to him more securely, trying to convince himself that there was still hope for Junsu, his Su. Following the countless fits Junsu had thrown, the doctor had told Yoochun earlier that the critical stage of self-mutilation and suicidal would soon ensue. That news alone, was enough to kill both Kim Junsu and Park Yoochun.

He rubbed his cheek against the cool, slack jaw, trying to give Junsu life, trying to stir the warmth in his heart, trying to revive their love. Nothing happened. Junsu still stared blankly into space, his eyes glassy and his face expressionless.

Park Yoochun broke down into tears of helplessness and despair. My Su … My Su …

Changmin stared at the steering wheel in front of his eyes. It felt so long since he had drove, and yet it was only a month ago. A month ago … it was exactly a month back when he committed the evil deed … Changmin forced the thought out of his head.

It’s time, wordlessly, Changmin started the engine, for me to atone for my sins, to pay for what I’ve done.

He stepped onto the accelerator and his car sped forwards at an impossibly fast speed on the road.

Junsu … Be happy …

The wheels screeched wildly on the end of the road, losing control of the centre of gravity -

I will take away with me this deadly poison of love, lust and sacrifice. You must be happy …

The last thing Shim Changmin remembered was the image of a contented smile on Junsu’s face before plunging deep down into the depths of the Han River.

Junsu, Junsu! Park Yoochun burst into the room. Spotting Junsu sitting lifelessly at the window seat, he rushed over to him and engulfed him in his arms. Chang … Changmin’s dead. Yoochun promptly burst into tears.

Junsu’s heart gave a lurch. So he was dead now.

C - Chun … Don’t cry. With shaky fingers, he rubbed away the tears nestling on Yoochun’s cheek. Shocked into silence, Yoochun could only open and shut his mouth in surprise. Junsu …

His lips found its way to Junsu’s without the need for any signs.

A bunch of flowers tied together by a white ribbon, lay softly against a pale tombstone. A picture of a smiling young man was embedded at the centre, its colours contrasting greatly against the white, pure marble.

The wind blew gently, secrets swirling within its whispering depths.

Jun … Su …

Su-ah, Yoochun murmured against his ear. Hmm? Finding Yoochun’s lips ticklish, Junsu tried to free himself from Yoochun’s arms but failed. Squealing, they fell over onto the couch and Yoochun tickled Junsu mercilessly until he begged for mercy, crying and laughing at the same time.

What will you give to me if I stop? Yoochun pressed, a naughty smirk upon his face. Anything, anything! Junsu felt like his lungs were going to collapse from the lack of oxygen.

Sure enough, Yoochun let go of Junsu and the latter heaved a few deep breaths of air, before being deprived of it once more as Yoochun stole his lips in a kiss.

Junsu … You are mine tonight, Yoochun said in his low, seductive voice.

Their bodies entwined in the sheets, Yoochun had Junsu in a loose grasp in the crook of his arm, fiddling absentmindedly with his soft, brown hair. Su-ah … Yoochun began the way he did when he always had something important to say.

Hmmm? He replied in his usual way, his index finger making invisible circles in the thin chest that he loved making a pillow out from, warmth radiating off every inch of skin.

Changmin was right, Yoochun said, and Junsu felt as if his body had been submerged with icy water upon the mention of the name. Do not say that name in front of me! Junsu half-yelled.

Listen to me, Su, Yoochun’s voice was comforting and soothing. He was right. You are poison.

Junsu could have punched him. He shot the older man a murderous glare and settled down by turning his back on him.

Su, Junsu felt a soft hand turning him around. He refused to look up, until the hand slid upwards to his chin and he met the soft, trustworthy, melting-brown eyes of Park Yoochun’s.

You are poison, because once I fell for you, I could not retract myself. Once I had one taste of you, I wanted more. I wanted you, Su; I wanted you, so badly that I could die if you had ever rejected me. I was addicted to you, Yoochun gazed at Junsu deeply. And even if I died, it would be because I left you.

Junsu buried his fingers in Yoochun’s neck and moved to close the gap between them. I know, Chun. I can feel it. I can feel your love.

Kim Junsu … if you are poison, then I am willing to perish because of you.

***

Love, is like poison; once it spreads, it can’t stop.

It hurts, it burns, it kills; but we are hooked to the sensation.

Often, we are lost within its endless bottoms.

In the end, we find ourselves dead, reincarnated, and reborn.

And a whole new life begins.
