Sorry, had to get that out of my system.
So, I was out mowing my lawn today. It was nice day, not too hot (mid 80's), and no rain in sight. It would be a good day for the beach, now that I think about it... but I digress. Anyway, I was out mowing and noticed the standard fair... the ant holes, the spiders, the buzzing flying insects, you know... what you would expect. It looks like the fire ants are gone, btw... when I mowed over that ant hill today, only normal sized ants came out. But that's another tanget... Anyway, so, I finished mowing and grabbed the trimmer to finish up. I noticed even more of the standard fair. So far, so good... until I get to the back wall, right underneath one of the 2 windows to my bedroom. I saw a spider crawling up the wall... but this one looked different from all the wolf spiders I had seen. It was sleeker... had the sharp pointy legs you see in all the horror movies. It was dark, kinda dusty colored. So, I got in and looked closer. It really WAS dust, but there was enough black showing up through the dust to get the point. Then I saw the red blotch on it's ass.
hense the AHHHHHHHH!!! bit. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle ;)
But wait, there's more! So, I finished the lawn (looks good, I even edged the driveway and the street gutters) and came in to get cleaned up. I got in the shower and began to scrub the dust and dirt off. Washed my hair... got shampoo in my eye, damnit. I started feeling weird half way through the shower, kinda disoreinted. Started to see spots when I closed my eyes. Then I got dizzy. The last time I felt like that I blacked out walking down the hall to go to bed. I spent close to $2000 in medical bills (after my insurance company paid their share) for a doctor to tell me 'don't worry, it's natural and we can't find anything wrong with you'. Lovely. So anyway, back to the shower. I managed to get mostly clean and dryed off before I slupped into bed, but at least I didn't black out. I laid there for a few minutes to calm down, and everything was ok. I'm not sure what happened, but on a hunch I weighed myself... I've lost over 4lbs since yesterday, so I suspect that I just got really dehydrated outside.
Gatorade to the rescue! Gotta love having about 5lbs of powered gattorade on hand at any given moment :P One of the many good hold overs from all the biking ;) Assuming I can get enough fluids and maybe a meal in me in the next couple hours, I'm going to see about going to see Fearless tonight with some of the people from my Kempo class. Should be fun ;)
peace...
