I hate it when a plan goes straight to hell...

So... today, I was supposed to be grilling out today. It's a gorgeous day for it, too. The plan was, I invited several people from Kempo, along with Shannon and Mindy over for burgers, guac, and a movie. Sounds like fun, yeah? I sure thought so...

Pointless, bitchy rant about food follows... )

I repeat. You spend far to much time thinking about food.

it keeps me out of trouble ;) Besides, I like to cook. Call it a hobbie. It's what I do when I can't afford to go SCUBA diving this week, or it's too wet or hot to go for a good 30 mile bike ride.

I was under the impression you are trying to lose wieght. Fixating on various peices of food is not likely to aid in reaching such a goal.

You have a point, but concider this... my options are to go out and eat something horrible bad for me at a fast food or sit down restaraunt, or stay at home and think up new and healthy alternatives.

It's hard to find healthy food here, everything is catering to the tourists. Tourists are on vacation, meanting they either want to east super fast, or super rich. Either way, it's unhealthy. So, I can cook and get as fancy as I want, but I can keep it healthy. Like my curry recipie, for example. The only fat in that dish at all is whatever I leave on the chicken (not much), and whatever oils are found in coconut milk. If I cut the rice out, it would even be low carb ;)

Anyway, all the time I'm spending at the Gym is doing it's part on the weight loss bit. Kempo in particular is alot more intensive than I imagined it would be. Between that, the weights, and my cardio machines at home, I'm coming back around ;)

Nothing wrong with cooking for one's self. But look at your lj history. You spend a great deal talking about food in most every entry. I'm guessing you spend a great deal of time thinking/quasi-fantasizing about it IRL aswell.

well, like I said... it's a hobby, keeps me out of trouble ;) I don't cook for myself as much as I would like... I don't like wasting all the time resources to cook a fancy meal for just me. So I talk about it alot, in the hopes that someone will volunteer to be a guinea pig and let me cook something interesting for them :P

I guess I'm suggesting you simplify your hobby and focus your mind on some less-calorific pursuit.
