You couldn't just kill her yourself? (I know nothing about these spiders.)

Well technically, in a purely conceptual sense, yes. I could kill this one myself. However, there are 2 problems with that idea ( ... )

Gah! Those are 2 (or 22 ::ahem::) very compelling reasons to call an exterminator. Make haste and get thee to a 'phone!

I applaud you for your consideration of letting her alone.
You're a sweetie, Rich:)

i have to admit, the spider is quite beautiful.

i think under the circumstances getting an exterminator is the best course of action.

agreed... as much as I wouldn't mind letting her stay, if she's laying eggs, they've got to go. I have a cat to worry about now, to mention my own fragile psyche (when it comes to spiders, anyway)!

as much as i like spiders, and my mom kept a black widow as a pet (you know my mom so no explaination needed there).... black widows IN the house are a different story. since they tend to like dark cramped spaces... under your bed for example... you don't need to surprise one and get bitten.

get the to an exterminator!

yeah, I've got to look into that. I'll make a few phone calls after lunch.
