I have a lot of thoughts on why I wax and wane in livejournal activity. I have many thoughts to write down rather than too few. Probably that has something to do with the problem, as the anxiety over the mounting list of things to write about makes me avoid it even more, and yes I do realize the irony as I don't "have" to write about anything.

Me earlier today: "My job is interesting enough, but wouldn't it be cool if it involved something other than analysis of data and computer modeling? Like if I actually had to go out and do cool stuff like doing experiments in a lab or going on field trips

For work reasons, I had to do a Google search on "Sixth International Conference on Geochronology". The first link that pops up is this. By now I really shouldn't be surprised by these things, but I'm still dumbstruck every time I run into one of these

I can't sleep. Or rather, I was tired enough that I fell asleep on the couch at 9. Unfortunately, that's not my normal sleep schedule, so my body woke up at like 3 in the morning to complain. As a result, I am now wide awake

This is going back to one of the concerns I've voiced previously here about the relationship between NASA and the current administration. Yes, most people reading this probably don't care, but it's an issue that is important to me, and I spent enough time researching it that I'm posting it anyway. So there.
Note to self: a steady diet of ramen noodles and junk food may not be the healthiest idea. I was also wonderfully surprised by how much of my food budget I still have, before I realized that it is partially due to skipping one too many meals
