For drabble month. :)
Title: -
Pairing: Teddy/Taeyang
Rating: PG
Summary: "Wouldn't it be simpler to just move in with him?" he asks, forgetting for a moment how they're all supposed to pretend they haven't figured it out.
Note: Boram is Youngbae's personal manager.
Boram is informed by Seungri, his hair plastered to his head on one side and wrinkles still imprinted on his cheek, that Youngbae isn't in the dorm this morning and no, he doesn't know why or where he is. A moment later, he receives a text message from Youngbae, asking why "hyung isn't here yet".
The drive to Teddy's apartment is as much of a pain in the ass as usual. He reminds himself for the hundredth time to call and find out where Youngbae is before attempting to pick him up, but odds are he'll roll out of bed at seven AM sometime next week and forget again.
Youngbae always gets a hug goodbye from Teddy, and it doesn't take a genius to notice the way the hugs have gotten tighter, more lingering over time. The staff tend to compare notes, anyway, and between managers, personal trainers, stylists, dancers and makeup artists, not much gets past them.
"Can we drop by the dorm first? I have to change," Youngbae says from the passenger seat, sounding apologetic. Big Bang's, Teddy's, Big Bang's, TV studio. Boram could do this in his sleep now.
"Wouldn't it be simpler to just move in with him?" he asks, forgetting for a moment how they're all supposed to pretend they haven't figured it out.
"I'm already bothering him enough as it is," Youngbae mutters, and that's the official line he gives interviewers, too.
"You really think you're bothering him?"
Youngbae looks down at his hands and smiles as if remembering some private joke. "I don't know..." His expression turns serious again as the traffic light turns green. "Do you really think I should move in with him?"
He doesn't like being asked questions like this, because it's no secret Youngbae was last in line to choose a personal manager and would've preferred someone else. He would've preferred someone else as well - Seunghyun, or maybe Daesung - and Youngbae's occasional forays into personal conversation usually only serve to make them both uncomfortable.
"It'd be simpler," he repeats, and that seems to be enough to give Youngbae some food for thought. He stares out the window for the rest of the drive, silent and pensive - or maybe he's just embarrassed about having mentioned The Teddy Situation in a way that was almost an acknowledgment.
Either way, maybe he'll call and warn Boram next time.
Or maybe Boram will just start driving straight to Teddy's apartment building every morning. That'd be simpler, too.
