You asked for it

Seth takes a good artistic shot. Of course, I said, this is NOT the shot we need. This is the shot we need (you know, showing it all spread out across my back). But then I didn't like the "points at my butt" thing. So then Seth got all goofy and snapped this shot and this one. And of course I was at home, using the oldest digital camera in the world, so you can just hope that someday I a) get a better camera; b) get a shot of it at the office.

Stats, in case you missed 'em:

Wing of the Moth shawl (pattern available here)

Handmaiden "Angel" yarn in color Mineral, 70% kid mohair, 30% nylon, very soft, very laceweight. 800 meters per skein. I had a good bit left over, will get a weight at some point. I loved that this was a continuous thread: no joining! TWO ENDS to weave in! That *never* happens. And at one point I had to rip back about 4 rows of garter stitch, and was able to rip them without a lifeline and pick up the whole row of like 400 stitches with only 2 or 3 misses.

Needles: I tried my trusty Addi Naturas but found the fine, fine yarn caught in the joins. Then I pulled out some old aluminum straights, which grew too weighty. Finally I purchased some Helen whatever aluminum circs, which were FINE. The twisty cord was the only down side and it was mild. Size 4 needles, which is below recommended gauge, which is why it's a bit small -- but I didn't want to run out of yarn, having pulled this from my stash and all!

I'm very pleased to say this yarn will be available at Hilltop in October (it's stuck in customs, I hear) and look forward to future shawls in it!
