my tiny quilt and things that strike me funny.

Where else can you find a comment like "But I loathe and despise intarsia" but on a knitting blog? (Note: Julia has the best subhead of any blog in the whole world: "You have made a mistake: you still have time to correct it". It sounds like a Star Trek quote to me, or maybe a D&D quote, or perhaps even something from "Choose your own adventure"--but it totally is a knitting quote.)

Ah, I have so much to chatter about today; it's a sunny Friday in July, I have just over three days left of being 30 years old, I'm convinced that I can get everything necessary done in the time available (don't laugh like that!)... it does look like it's going to rain on my birthday though. Darn. I had a sudden vision of people filling my backyard, construction materials for my neighbor/landlord's roof in the yard be damned, which now is mutating back into a vision of 100 people at a tiny Italian restaurant Tuesday night (the original plan only maybe not 100 people. 100 people won't fit and may not want to spend that much. and um this is kind of last-minute!).

See, chatter? When really I'm here to post a nice, crystal-clear photo of the finished tiny quilt! I LOVE IT and want to make a big, usable one right away. I mean, we're using this one, but it's bitty.

Ah, it's been an hour since I started this post and I'm a lot less chatty now. Must be almost lunchtime!

Before I go I will show you the patched corner and ask you this: Does stitch witchery dissolve over time? Should I hand-sew down the edges of the patch? Will this tiny little quilt even stand up to years of use overall?

OH and one more thing: Erica and Ethan like the baby blanket colors so much they're going to base the nursery colors on the palette, with a "mother earth, father sky" theme. They also received a boppy pillow in coordinating colors by chance! Hm, I'd better give them the bad-fluorescent-lighting photos I took at the office shower...
