Blurry bus knitting
Originally uploaded by crankyisgood. Seth's sock in the "Belgian/German" Regia flag colors. Okay, so I admit that I cast on Sunday night, and haven't touched the Olympic Sweater since Saturday. I am pleased to have joined the ranks of those knitters who have a sock on the needles at all times so as to have travel knitting handy. My sock yarn stash--well, I was going to say it "tripled" or some other quantifiable measure, but actually it didn't exist until very recently. But now I have the flaggy yarn shown here; two balls of the Italian colorway; and the six skeins shown in my last post. Really, that's all. (I'm not counting the Koigu in my stash primarily because I have single skeins, and I never planned to make socks with it anyway.) And really, the key to sock knitting is to not have them be the primary object, because each stitch is tiny and the rows are endless... yet soon enough you have a sock!

Trouble with having a sock on the needles, though, illustrated by a conversation with Seth last night. "The good news is your sock is already flaggy!" "What's the bad news?" "I've been knitting your sock instead of working!"

Ah. So today my goal is to get a lot of work done so I can RELAX tonight. I got up early and went out to catch an early bus... only to realize I misread the schedule and ended up wet and cold. And not really with any time advantage, but I did get a second cup of coffee.

At some point I need to post more about Sunday's ride; when I was trying to decide what to wear, I realized the value in chronicling the mundanities which I haven't done in the past.

ETA: Just realized I have the yarn for my SockapalOOOza pal as well. I shall photograph that someday soon.
