I just can't get you out of my head

Oh what fun Friday night was. No, I was not at the local discotheque dancing to a little bit of handbag house. I was instead in A&E clutching my head between my hands in abject agony. I had viral meningitis when I was 20 so any severe head pain always has me worried. But this was head pain that was immune to my usual opiate meds, nsaids and paracetamol. Nothing touched it and it kept getting worse so we went to A&E. They determined pretty quickly that it was a severe tension headache rather than anything life threatening but still took it very seriously. They gave me a couple of doses of oromorph and diclofenac IV. Once the meds had started to have an effect they were happy for me to go which was well-timed as A&E was becoming full of rather noisy drunkards. When the doctor found out I used to be a student nurse he said that when I go back to it I should come play with them in A&E. Ouch! :(

Fingers crossed these headaches don't become a regular thing.
