Oh, so this is what work is like

When I first starting reading and writing for college it was a very relaxed atmosphere. I thought, I have so much time to do all of this! I only have two classes a day! But once you get into the swing of things, workloads increase. And partly, it's because you start to care more. The subjects you're learning are important to you-- I really wanted to understand the lectures for my literature class and the arguments the professors were making, I wanted to pick up on the seemingly insignificant moments in the books we read by myself, without the help of a TA or fellow classmate. It's enjoyable, but it's work nonetheless.

I'm getting there. Finals week is not as stressful as I was imagining it to be, mostly because I'm buckling down and getting things finished early so I have time to make changes if I would happen to wake up with some epiphany about my writing (which happens to me, by the way).

And the anticipation to return home to my family, my boyfriend, my best friends is helping move me along. I keep thinking once I get all of this done, I will be done with the semester and on the first Greyhound back to the 717 I miss so much.

I'm finished with 2 of my classes now. In Psychology I've taken 3 out of 4 exams because she's only counting 3 and I did well enough so that I'm somewhat exempt from the final. It allows me to sleep in on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at least. I took my last exam for Modern Art today, which I think I did alright on. I average a B on those exams so I'm assuming I'll be getting that or better since it felt about the same for  most of the test, but my writing on the essay improved. Abstract art is simple, anyway.

So it's just writing these lit papers (which I'm taking a break from currently), finishing my composition portfolio, and taking the Anthropology exam on Thursday. Easy like Sunday morning.

In less boring news, this weekend should be interesting. Since my weekends always start on Thursday, I'll be celebrating Tasia's birthday with her and some other people. Dinner and some bar that doesn't card, additional partying later, so that should be a nice break. Friday night I'm going to Pegasus, which is a gay bar downtown that apparently is quite the experience. Kind of excited for it, haha. Saturday I want to go Christmas/Jayda shopping in Shadyside because I just got a nice paycheck I want to put to use. Cha-ching.

Alright, back to the grind.
