This week has just been a series of ups and downs, triumphs and failures, and it's only Wednesday.

Here are some bad things so I can end the entry on a good note:
1. This tendon that runs horizontally in my foot, apparently like a tendon sheath that stretches over the larger tendons that reach your toes, has been over-exerted and has been painful for about two weeks now. And there's not much I can do about it! Hurray.
2. Apparently I'm an analytical and, I would even go as far to say nagging girlfriend, which is never a pleasant realization to make. In an effort to change my overbearing behavior, I'm walking on eggshells and re-thinking the things I say. Don't quote him, Jayda. Dismiss opportunitites to argue because you know you both think differently and there's no way of changing it. You're both too stubborn to see the other side. It doesn't matter how badly you want to speak up, speak out. What if I don't know how to respond without imposing an opinion? Opinions are, after all, extensions of ourselves. Hard work.
Actually those are the only bad things.

GOOD STUFF!
1. Well, you're a dumbie if you don't know what the good news of the week is. We have a new president! And it's not gonna be Bush! Or McBush! If you live under a rock (and no one that reads this does so it's a bit unnecessary for me to articulate), Obama is our president for the next four years! It's very exciting, it's historic, it's monumental, etc. and I'm so, so happy that I was a part of it this time. I wasn't just watching the results on TV or hearing about them through somebody else...I was the results. Well, obviously not just me, but there's a sense of satisfaction that comes with seeing the candidate you waited two hours in line to vote for reach that 270 mark.
2. I believe Jack is coming to visit tomorrow unless he changes his mind to Friday. But I'm pretty sure it's tomorrow. And it's been two weeks which is a really long time, and even when he visited last time it was all very rushed and a little unusual. He was sick on Saturday and slept a lot, and then I became ill Sunday morning and he left early because he promised his family he'd be home earlier. It wasn't anything like our typical weekends together, and even though change is a good thing, becoming sick and sleeping through the weekend (which we both did) is definitely a change for the worse. But we both feel all better now and will hopefully have our typical weekend together. Only longer (see? those are the good changes).
3. I got an A on my anthropology paper on trial marriages. Hey, it made me happy.
4. Vampire Weekend is a nice band and I downloaded their CD. This isn't a top-ranking moment of my week but it was still worth mentioning.
5. Stevie said something very nice to me this week. She called me an inspiration. And that's better than somebody saying, "Oh you look pretty!" or "I love your shoes" or "You're a nice person." I'm an inspiration to somebody...that's a mood lifter.
