Gleek out!

Glee concert! It was awesome! I guess I'll cut for this since maybe it's spoilers?
  • Before the show a bunch of people dressed like Cheerios passed out William McKinley barf bags. A gift from Sue Sylvester, who came on the video screens to warn us that the show was so bad that we might end up puking.
  • They opened with "Don't Stop." Of course. Only about 5 of the cast was up there at first, then the rest came out one by one. Mark Salling came out last and the noise level in the venue tripled, I swear. He got the biggest crowd reaction by far. TAKE NOTE, WRITERS AND PRODUCERS.
  • I guess they were all supposed to be their characters because they made Kevin perform in Artie's wheelchair (except for when he did "Safety Dance," which was awesome).
  • They kept the energy high high high for the whole show. They did all upbeat songs--no ballads except for Chris singing "I Wanna Hold Your Hand." The crowd went nuts for that one, it was so good!
  • Brittany lipsynched Britney. A+ for verisimilitude.
  • Naya lipsynched "Valerie." In her defense, they made her do a shit ton of choreography during that number. It's a very hard song to sing anyway, so it's probably better that she didn't sing it live.
  • We were right next to the B stage, which is where Mark came out to sing "Fat Bottomed Girls." I might have screamed a little bit.
  • Chris also did the "Single Ladies" number on the B stage, shaking his stuff not 6 feet from my face. I spent the entire time staring at his ass in his skinny black jeans. To be honest, it's just fair-to-middlin'. He does not have the smokin' hot ass that fic would lead you to believe. (Sorry, Chris. Everything else about you is awesome though.)
  • Blaine and the fucking Warblers were there. Blech. They also performed on the B stage. I was the only person there not losing my shit. I actually sat down, LOL. They're fine performers or whatever, but every goddamn song they sing is a song that someone I actually care about doesn't get to sing.
  • I was sitting in an aisle seat and Mark passed by me not 6 inches away. Well, Mark and a few other cast members. But, MARK omg. I felt a little faint.
  • A lot of my fellow concert-goers were dressed up, but the best costumes by FAR were the four people who wore matching track suits à la Sue Sylvester. Hilarious! Other people were actually taking pictures of them.
  • This was probably the most wide-ranging concert crowd I've ever seen. Every kind of person you can imagine was there. Middle-aged married hetero couples, gay dudes and their boyfriends, butch lesbians and their girlfriends, young gay boys and their moms, little kids, dorky kids, cool kids, hipster kids--it was kind of amazing.

Someone in the puckurt community posted vids of Chris doing "Single Ladies" and Mark doing "Fat Bottomed Girls." I did not take any pics or vids myself. I would wax philosophical about how I prefer to just be in the moment and enjoy the experience rather than trying to save it for posterity, but mostly I'm just lazy. :D
