Zombies and Bank Tellers

Jul 22, 2006 00:19

So, starting tonight, I'll be working different shifts at my second job for the next 6 days. I can't just sit around and bitch about not having money. Of course, now I have little free time. And when I do...

I watch shitty movies w/ female super heroines in them that leave off with the promise of sequels. I've watched both Underworlds, Bloodrayne, and now the second Resident Evil movie. It was ba-a-a-ad! Hi, in this day and age, with all the fancy computer effects, why are we still using SLO-MO? That doesn't make me believe Milla Jovovich is fighting like a mutant ninja! And the whole Matrix bullet thing, oy, I get it! At least in Superman Returns there was some new gag using that cliche effect, but, this movie just blew. And zombies are back to walking really slow, again?

I'm also watching way too many government conspiracies, if you count The 4400, The Village in a way, and all these sci-fi horror movies. Plus, I read comic books, so I'm getting lots of conspiracy stuff from the Checkmate comics and Civil War and so on.

My dating life is so weird. Right now it involves someone who isn't available but flirts(I just like the attention, like when Patricia Arquette gets her arm pit licked in Flirting With Disaster) and who shoved my napkin into my lap, as though I was going to start eating my bread w/out putting it there first. 'I hate bad table manners. I'm a bit of a snob.' Yeah, well, I'm not a mermaid in a Tom Hanks movie, and it's rude to be so presumptious! But, I did ask which fork to use for the salad. And, even fake dating is dating for someone like me. And I don't have to put out! But, basically, I got the same result: I hate dating. And if I think something is a date, it's not. And if I don't, they do. I can't win and I don't know what I would want to win.

I got recognized from the play. That's always nice. Friend of a friend, but still...

We find out this Wed if the national judges dig our musical in the 48-Hour Film Fest. I think...

I've decided I should be a bank teller. I'd always be on (security) camera, I could write about stick-ups in my LJ, it wouldn't interfere w/ rehearsal/performance scheduling, and I could probably transfer to another city if need be. That's what I'm thinking right now. By mid-week, I'll have hit on another couple jobs I'll never actually pursue. Oh well.

movies, rehearsal, money, shitty, play, film
