WOOOOO cake es the bomb

so the end of christmas break. and soon, the beginning of the second semester of the old freshman year of college. i watched animal house the other day, and boy has my experience been nothing like that. which is good. because i realize as amazing as that movie is, the whole campus frat scene isn't my style. i also watched robin hood: prince of thieves last night, and my experience is more like that, with the Moorish protector and old blind men and arrows and alan rickman. i can't believe marion played gina in scarface. that is reeeeediculous

......

anyway

but at press time, i'm finished with 2 and a half of the 6 plays i was supposed to read over break, i haven't worked on my shakespeare monologue quite enough, or done spirals/pelvic tilts/vocal exercises anywhere near the prescribed amount, so this weekend will be one of catchup. again, i'm not worried. i'm really freaking excited, because this weekend is going to be amazing. reunited with glorious manhattan and my roomies, and MJ, and all my myriad of studio companions....going to the movies with MIKE HEIGHT who is finally back in the city where he belongs, and living 4 blocks from me, and calling DENNIS SHINNERS of discovery kids fame.

and here's the end of the year plan: if march 15 comes around and no call from Utah comes, ie, no 14 weeks in salt lake doing shakespeare, i'm going to try to stick in the city and get back into the audition swing of things. so, the summer is looking up one way or another.

as for break, i've had a lot of fun. i watched a season and a half of smallville (best show ever. period) and lots of movies, and i saw lots of fun people. fun times include movies with adam, on the waterfront with christa, the oedipus cast party, poker with chris young, parties at aimee's, and hanging out with my family, who are supercool. i'm so stoked to go back to school though. it feels more and more that my life is there, and not here anymore, which makes sense i guess. i'll always have a soft spot for the valley though : D

so on my plate today is making a reel dvd to bring back to school, getting together all the myriad of stuff i have to bring back, packing, reading, and hopefully ron will call and our pizza/movie night will happen. whether it does or not, i'm thinking about going to "last of the red hot lovers" at the music box, the scranton public theatre is putting on a production there, and damnit if i'll miss a neil simon for less than $20, even if it is the SPT.

so, in short, goodbye valley, hello village. i've missed you so, and it'll be good to be back.
