Got My 3.
Last night, Caitlin drove all the way down from Manchester to come see me, and to go car shopping with me. First stop was Seacoast Mazda. We were there probably for about an hour to an hour and a half. I test drove a Mazda 3 with Caitlin. We both liked it. I wasn't sure if I could swing the payments or not, so I told the guy I'd have to think about it. That would give me time to go home and look at numbers, and "crunch" them and see what I came up with. After Seacoast Mazda, we decided we needed a bite to eat. So, we wanted something cheap and fast. McDonald's was the name of the game. We even went dutch. How cute huh?! Right next door to McD's is Portsmouth Ford. We stopped by there as well. I wanted to see if they had any Ford Focuses in... primarily the ZX3's... they had one, but it was a stick shift, and although I know how to drive a stick, I prefer an automatic for the simplicity of it, especially in Portsmouth rush hour traffic on the highway. After Portsmouth Ford, we decided that was enough car shopping for one night, so we went our respective ways.
Today, I had butterflies in my stomach. I'm not sure why I was so nervous, but I'm pretty sure it was the big decision I was going to have to make over this weekend. I needed a car, and like pronto. Because of the crash... it kinda screwed me. So, at lunch time, I called the guy I met at the Mazda dealership, and I talked him down even more... over the phone mind you! Haha... it wasn't much, but at least he gave way a little more. So, I told him I'd stop by after work, and we could talk. By the end of the workday, I'd decided I wanted to go ahead with the deal.... so, I went over there, and said "Let's do this". I got my 04' Mazda3!! I'm so excited! I get to pick it up tomorrow. I could have driven it home tonight, but I have the rental still, and I need to take it back tomorrow. So, the plan is, Caitlin is going to come over here in the morning, and then we are going to the bank to deposit the money I got from my insurance company, then we'll head to Enterprise to drop off the car... and then off to pick up the car in Portsmouth.
Tomorrow in the evening, I am supposed to go with 3 other co-workers to Gunstock mountain and hit the slopes for some night skiing. I'm excited to do that as well. I think it will help me unwind from the stress of the crash and having to buy a new vehicle and take on new payments. I'm really looking forward to it. Caitlin is supposed to go out with her friend Lindsay... not quite sure what they are doing exactly, but I think they might be going to see a movie?
Anyhoo, I'm getting ready for bed. Caitlin came over tonight and we sat downstairs on the couch and watched tv with my parents for a couple hours. Taped editions of "The Biggest Loser" and "Dancing With The Stars".. it was cool to just have a chill evening. But alas, its sleepytime. Busy day ahead of me tomorrow!
