Well, who didn't see that one coming?

Yeah, they didn't get in. I was really bummed when i first heard that, but when brian explained to me that jason and steve were going for a really out there kinda sound, and our sound didn't match what they wanted to do, it made me realize something: we were judging these guys on a band they were in for 8 years, not on what they wanted to do now musically in their lives. More power to them, i wasn't a big fan of the idea of rewriting our songs anyhow.

I am kinda concerned about my playing at this time though. It seems like either people are saying "you guys don't have your own style" or "a lot of the stuff sounds the same".... WELL WHAT THE FUCK? WHICH ONE IS IT???? it can't be both, that's fuckin impossible. None the less, i need work on what i do. it fuckin sucks sometimes because like so much weight of what we do has to be on the guitar player. A drummer can write parts to a song too, but he can;t determine the melody that goes over the beat. It sucks, i just don't want to let anyone down, that is like my biggest fear at this point, because so much is riding on me to write good stuff.

Anyway, we got another drummer trying out this weekend, i talked to him today, sounds cool as hell. He's got his shit together as well, and plays a digital as well as acoustic set, which is really good and was what i wanted our drummer to do. He's big into the kinda music we like as well, and likes off time, abstract playing all while keeping it catchy and rockin when he's gotta. i got a good feeling this time around, and that's rare, we'll have to see how it turns out i guess...
