A scarf modelled after 5

Aug 14, 2008 16:10

This is my first post on this community, so sorry if I do something wrong. I finished a project this summer as a gift for
yummysubculture. I crocheted a scarf modelled after the fifth Doctor's costume. Not the forth, the fifth. :) Notice the decorative vegetable attacted by two safety pins so that the wearer can adjust its location such that it appears to be on ones lapel.

One problem is that the two kinds of yarn are of different thicknesses, but maybe it'll stretch out in a way that will make that OK.

Also: HOW TO CROCHET A PIECE OF CELERY. Upon proud display to my father: "What is that, a gecko? No? Oh! Right, a palm tree. No? Then what? Celery. Why celery?" (He is somewhat amused by my infatuation with Doctor Who. Kids these days.)
A couple more pics with close-ups of the celery, with a sonic screwdriver for scale.

The scarf is about six and a half feet long and two inches wide.
