Hello :) I used to post here, but I haven't used my livejournal in quite some time. I'm trying to change that, though, so here I am! A few birthday gifts I finished up and am dying to share with someone...
Two good friends of mine have birthdays very close to each other, so I was really crunching on time to get these done. Procrastination, not just for students.
I don't have much of a system for quilt making, I just laid out the blocks til I felt like it would be a good size with a border tacked on. I've been calling this 'couch sized,' it's pretty close to full sized. My friend loves stars and blue is her favorite color so I just grabbed some fat quarters and had at it with this one.
For friend number two, I worked off a tutorial to craft a case for her ipad. I didn't particularly pay attention to the pattern so had a happy accident with the way the tab lined up on the body of the case.
I also made a few small pouches to go with it to hold pens and makeup and any other whatnots.
Lastly, once I was done with the hard stuff, I used my fabric scraps and hard backs I found at the dollar shop to make them each an ipad case. Cutting out all the damn holes was a lot more frustrating than I anticipated - there were a lot more than I realized!
