Summary: Hikaru Sulu has a great life - a fun job, an awesome best friend, a complete lack of ambition. Things are perfect...until a green-eyed kid in a suit and tie screws up everything.
Notes: This is a sweet, funny and engrossing AU featuring Hikaru as a "normal" guy and Pavel as a bit of a social misfit. I love how the author plays these two off each other and takes their relationship in unexpected directions.

Summary: Rule #1: Don't fall in love.
Notes: I always enjoy a pining Bones, and this fic is a wonderful example of it. I also love the way the author captures his friendship with Jim; they both felt quite in character to me.
Dead Cold by emmagrant01 (Kirk/McCoy, NC-17, 2,400 words)
Summary: Jim and Bones' shuttle is damaged/attacked on their way back to the Enterprise, and is drifting dead in space. They're days away from help.
Notes: Many fics in which the characters think they're about to die get melodramatic or sappy; I love that this one doesn't, not really. It's a nicely written scene with dollops of affection, hotness and humor.

Summary: Leonard McCoy contracts xenopolycythemia. Some tragedies must run their course.
Notes: As the summary suggests, there is no magical cure for McCoy's illness in this story. This is beautifully written and broke my heart.
