Because this is an amazingly well done fic that not only makes an effort to fit into canon, connecting the dots between Nick and Lincoln, but also goes some way to attempt to explain the canon differences between Lincoln and Alt!Lincoln via their interactions with different Nick Lane's. It's a fantastic mix of angst and lust to romance, with an interesting look at the complexities of Nick's ability too. And if you like it there's another 3 related fics (roughly 11k) in the series for it that I also recommend reading.
