We've been in our home in the foothills north of Santa Fe, elevation 2,200 meters / 7,200 ft, almost a year now. We closed on the house a year ago tomorrow and took occupancy on 1-April.
We've enjoyed 4 seasons (happens to be snowing today but it melts off almost immediately - took the dogs on a walk during a sunny spell) and are very happy with our decision.
We've had more visitors in the past year than in the preceding 20 years in Houston so that's been a solid win. I've visited Ski Santa Fe on 3 occasions and am now starting to get value for the money spent in 2005 on my own boots and skis.
We lost Robbie last year to cancer and added Isla to our pack in October - she's half Australian Cattle Dog, a quarter Great Pyrenees and the rest Lab, German Shepherd and Husky. All working dog breeds. She's about 50 lbs at 7 months old and we think she'll reach 65. But she's a loveable teddy bear and she and Lily get along.
