The Story of Plans for Moving Forward

Feb 17, 2022 10:23

We accepted an offer on our house in 2015.  The last day of the option period, the buyer backed out.  So we took the house off the market and waited.  And waited.

We put the house back on the market last summer.  We accepted an offer in November and closed in December.

We packed up our household goods and put them in storage.  We spent Christmas in ( Read more... )

Difficult to make plans whilst Covid has been lingering. I’m glad to hear that things are finally moving forward and hope that the rest of the process goes smoothly. All the best for your new life in NM!

Thanks - objections are pretty much sorted and the loan is approved so the process should chug along without surprises. We’re at the point where the seller is asking us whether we want stuff she would like to leave so a good sign. I’m a bit emotional about the cost of it all and A already enumerating what he wants to do with the place once we move in. I find myself feeling like I’m some kind of cashpoint. So I’m working through that. But I appreciate the good thoughts and must say how much I miss your company and conversation along with Trevor, Charlie and the gang. I think I will plan on GB this year to reconnect with loved ones and mark the impending end of this crazy roller coaster ride of the past two years.

Congratulations on the house! Santa Fe is a magical place to live. May you both be very happy in your new home!

I'm sorry your Westie is so ill. You must be all over the place emotionally.

HUGs from Minneapolis!

Yes - Santa Fe was a recent choice after we pondered for a few years considering the Pacific NW, Spokane, my home town in Iowa and San Diego county.

Santa Fe is close to skiing, within a 9 hour drive for my kids, still within driving distance from Houston where A’s kids remain and positioned midpoint between Denver and Phoenix where the majority of A’s family (sister, nieces and nephews) live so we feel we’ll get to spend more time with family this way.

I love the mountains and it has been so refreshing to live in a blue state and city after decades in Texas. I will not miss their insane politics nor the hurricanes.

Your last paragraph is why i will not go back to Texas to live. I have a dear friend who just left Texas and relocated to Roswell, NM; her daughter and son-in-law relocated to Denver for the same reasons you've listed.
