I got home yesterday afternoon a bit after 3 having gotten to work at 05.00 so I was kinda mentally wiped. I had stuff I needed to do so of course I didn't do it. I sat down, got out some string cheese, flipped to Bravo and got immediately caught up in West Wing. Hard to stop once started. I made myself a chili size for supper from one of the burgers that I grilled during the Rita-holiday and some of the chili I made over the weekend. It was alright.
I've started listening to
Queer Voices on
KPFT, the local community Pacifica affiliate, on Monday nights. It provides insights into the Houston theatre and political scene with interviews with people like Matt Foreman of
The National Gay & Lesbian Task Force.
I wonder if I should get involved with a local organisation. The idea of going door to door about the
proposed amendment #2 to the constitution of Texas slated for November 8th petrifies me. But I could probably do web development for Queer Voices (as their website so clearly demonstrates the need for) or do
phone counseling through the switchboard. But then, I find insufficient time and energy to do the things I've already committed to in my life.
