A man and his kitten. That's a rare picture.

And to call your kitten a young lady (a proper young lady, perhaps?) would be quite flattering, I imagine, if your kitten could understand.

There is another man who is quite fond of his feline. Genesis.

I have no family here, nor do I live with anyone so... there is not much to speak of but her or work. Is it so odd for a man to talk of a pet cat?

Is that so? Well who can say if they really understand us or not?

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with him. A fellow feline lover is always nice to meet, I find.

Not really. I tend to do it too. I'm mostly alone here too.

I like to think they do. My moody feline roommate, Mint, seems to be able to pick up on what I'm saying to her most of the time.

I do not know him in person, but we have spoken over journals. He is very kind if you show interest in cats. I am not particularly fond of any specific animal, I merely happened to find pity on the kitten as she was in a bad place when we took her from her last home. Though I am finding the company of a cat is very favorable.

It is good to have some form of companionship then. Though I find I am working more often than not, so do not worry about being social so much.

*a soft chuckle* They are very human like in some regard. It is amusing to watch.

He sounds like a decent-enough person, if he likes cats. As you are a kind person for taking in a kitten when she was not in the best environment.

Too much work is bad, unless work isn't work anymore for you. About being social, for me I don't worry too much about it either. It's just that sometimes it can get pretty lonely.

True. It's strange how some animals act more human than humans do at times.

Thank you miss. You seem pleasant yourself. May I ask your name? I am Basch.

I do not consider it work as much as... helping the people here. It is a duty and privilege to work hard for the people and to help them... even though it seems as if someone does not appreciate our hard work.

I do not notice the loneliness in all honesty. Perhaps because I work with my good friend?

Indeed it is.

Pleased to meet you Basch. My first name is Kou, but I don't go by that name. You can call me Yaten.

Ah, so you're in public service of some kind?

You're lucky. It used to be the same for me.

Yes.

It is a pleasure, Yaten.

That I am. I am a police officer here in the city.

I am sorry to hear that... perhaps one day it shall be that way again?

Thank you. You too.

I see... I understand why it seems like a thankless job. Especially with how things are in the city right now.

I hope so too.

Yes. It is difficult to be in favor of a city that hates you for doing the job of the government and their ban.

It is more difficult when people kill many you worked with for so many years... I still... the anger that person or group of people must have had...

That's right. Things are all crazy because of the government's music ban.

...The incident with the police station... Were you there?

They are.

... I was. I was one of the few lucky to escape when it happened. My partner and I were not badly harmed, mostly scratches and bruises. I still cannot believe it happened.

It's good that you're both all right. You two must be lucky.

Do you know who was responsible for it?

... luckily our chief was not hurt badly either. There were not many others that survived.

No. Though supposedly the government has men in for questioning... but we have not gotten any details on it. I doubt we shall.

I do not wish to point fingers, but I have a feeling it could be someone upset over the ban.
